1.4 The unknown visitor

The Meta.L.Hyttan is an adaptable environment. The visitors are expected to be from very different backgrounds, in terms of age, gender and educational background.
For example: The retired steel worker would expect quite different information than the young school boy or the a taxi driver from Stockholm.

This means that the Meta.L.Hyttan needs to be able to present changing information and story content, depending on the kind of visitor.
It also means that the methods of conveying information and stories must be intuitive and easy to understand, no matter if the visitor has a science degree or is a 7 year old girl.

For that reason, Meta.L.Hyttan is showing scenarios for different needs. In the current demonstrator there are two content levels - the educational and the poetic. The poetic level is the more artistic and evocative way of describing the peoples every day life, thoughts and aspirations in this extreme environment.

The visitor should also be interested in coming back to Avesta, so the installations, exhibitions or cultural events should be updated and divers throughout the lifetime of the project. The proposed system is making it simple to upload new media content and events to the space, as well as plan entirely new concepts of content to be implemented at a later stage. ( > see future implementations )
The changing stories triggered by different visitors are painting a living picture of the normally dark and dead environment. For all visitors it should be an exciting and surprising experience they get involved in while exploring the old blast furnace hall.
