Flurry
Sachiko Hayashi, Fredrik Bridell, Olof Bendt
Sachiko Hayashi has built an installation featuring an animation of a snowfall. As you stand in front of the projection, snow flakes will land on your shadow image and turn into a jingling sound or a short reflection about snow, told by different people. The sounds have been produced by different composers and reflect their relations to snow. The piece poetically and cleverly combines the idea of a phenomenon, our memories, and the physical and virtual. Interacting with the virtual animation we gain access to people’s memories and thoughts regarding snow.
Flurry was developed as part of the Man Machine project.
